Yup, tried that but I am having problems unfortunately :-/
play16 outnum=00020008 freq=48000 OUT=AHI "Music:AIFF/some music file
have.aiff"
is the command line I tried. It gave me this error:

Aborted.
Error #1! Could not open audio device!

I went through the complete list of audiomodes and each one gave me that
result :-/
any ideas?

I also tried putting them into the env varibles but it does not make any
difference! :-/
I dont really fancy having to select a audiomode each time someone plays a
sound in IRC! (I have play16 set as the audio player)
